Harvey S. Firestone founded the Firestone Tire & Rubber Company in Akron, Ohio, on August 3, 1900, and Bridgestone bought it in 1988. Firestone's truck tires here come from two Bridgestone Americas lines: the Destination A/T2 and Destination X/T, which a 2019 Bridgestone Americas release added to the Firestone portfolio, and the commercial-grade Transforce AT2.
Bridgestone Americas announced the two Destination tires in Nashville on August 5, 2019. It said the A/T2 was designed for pickup trucks, SUVs and all-terrain vehicles and the X/T for light truck applications. The A/T2 launched in 29 sizes and the X/T in 25, with more X/T sizes promised for 2020; the current charts list 34 and 31. The release described the A/T2's all-new tread compound, stone rejecter technology and full-depth tread grooves for wet and snowy conditions, and a 55,000-mile (90,000 km) limited mileage warranty. For the X/T it described a specially designed tread compound for on- and off-road durability and a 50,000-mile (80,000 km) warranty. At launch, the release described the 90-Day Buy & Try as a return for a full refund or exchange. The 2024 manual describes it as an exchange for credit toward a new set.

Destination A/T2
The Destination A/T2 is a truck all-terrain for pickups and SUVs, with a new tread compound, stone-rejecter technology and full-depth interlocking 3D sipes. It is a passenger-construction tire: the current chart lists 34 sizes across 15-22in wheels, standard load except two XL sizes, with no LT sizes and 10-12/32in of tread. Bridgestone's 2024 US warranty manual lists it at 55,000 miles, with 275/65R18 as the one exception at zero. The 2019 launch release says it carries Three-Peak Mountain Snowflake certification, although the product page itself doesn't mention it.
Destination X/T
The Destination X/T is the heavier-duty hybrid, built for light trucks with a compound designed for on- and off-road durability. It has staggered shoulder lugs, open shoulder slots and the same 3D sipe technology. All 31 sizes are LT-metric across 16-20in wheels, mostly Load Range E with one C and one D size, and 12-17/32in of tread. Two sizes, LT265/65R17 and LT265/65R18, have 12/32in. The warranty manual lists it at 50,000 miles with no exceptions, and the same 2019 release describes it as Three-Peak Mountain Snowflake certified.
Transforce AT2
The Transforce AT2 is Firestone's commercial-grade light-truck all-terrain, with a chip- and tear-resistant compound for rough roads and gravel. It lists 17 LT-metric sizes across 16-20in wheels, all Load Range E and R speed-rated, with 15-18/32in of tread. The product page lists the limited mileage warranty as N/A for every size and does not state 3PMSF. The 2024 manual confirms that commercial-service tires carry no mileage warranty, although it keeps certain workmanship coverage for Transforce tires used in commercial service. Firestone's pages also omit 3PMSF on tires that are certified, so check the sidewall of your size.
Same Size, Different Ratings
In 265/70R17 the three tires carry very different ratings. The Destination A/T2's P265/70R17 is 113 S. The Destination X/T's LT265/70R17 is 121 S, and the Transforce AT2's LT265/70R17 is 121 R. Goodyear's load-index chart puts 113 at 2,535 lb and 121 at 3,197 lb per tire, so either LT tire is rated 662 lb more per corner, 2,648 lb across four. The A/T2 has 12/32in of tread in that size against 15/32in on the X/T and 17/32in on the Transforce. On speed, S is 112 mph and R is 106 mph on the same chart. That makes the Transforce the slowest-rated of the three, and every Transforce size is R.
Across each full chart the spread is wider. Five Destination A/T2 sizes are H-rated to 130 mph, including 225/60R17 99 H and 285/45R22 114 H, and its two XL sizes are 285/45R22 and P235/70R17 108 S. The X/T's only non-E sizes are LT255/75R17 111 T, a Load Range C rated 2,403 lb, and LT285/75R17 121 S, a Load Range D. The Transforce AT2's load indexes run from 115 to 126, or 2,679 to 3,748 lb per tire, with LT275/65R20 the only 126. On a staggered fitment, with different sizes front and rear, Bridgestone's manual gives the front tires the full mileage warranty and the rear tires half of it.
A passenger tire is the right fit only if its load index meets the vehicle's original-equipment spec. Goodyear notes that a tire with a lower load index than the original will not carry the original load. That is why the A/T2 suits half-ton trucks and SUVs on factory P-metric sizes, while three-quarter-ton trucks specified for LT tires need the X/T or Transforce.
Gold Pledge, Mileage Warranty and Buy & Try
Firestone's replacement tires are covered by the Gold Pledge Limited Warranty in Bridgestone's 2024 US manual. It covers eligible Firestone passenger and light truck tires, except winter and temporary spares, against conditions within the manufacturer's control. Replacement is free, including mounting and balancing, for 3 years from purchase (4 years from manufacture without proof of purchase). After that it is prorated by tread worn, up to 5 years from purchase or 6 from manufacture.
The mileage warranty is prorated from the start. A tire must wear evenly to the 2/32in wear bars, with no more than 2/32in difference between major grooves, and tires with more than 4/32in remaining are not accepted. A Destination A/T2 that wears out at 44,000 miles against its 55,000-mile warranty is charged 80% of the dealer's current price. The manual excludes road hazards (punctures, cuts, impact breaks, stone drilling, bruises, snags), overloading, improper inflation and racing or competition use. Under the 90 Day Buy & Try Guarantee, a full set of four or more Firestone tires can be returned within 90 days for credit toward a new set of Bridgestone or Firestone tires. It excludes flotation sizes and OE tires, and it is limited to one set per vehicle in any 12-month period.
To qualify at all, a Firestone tire has to have been bought and mainly used in the continental US, Alaska, Hawaii or DC. It must match or exceed the vehicle maker's size and speed rating, stay on the vehicle it was first mounted on, and be under 10 years from manufacture. Fast wear or wear-out is outside the Gold Pledge and can only be claimed under the mileage warranty.
