Falken launched in Japan in 1983 as the flagship high-performance radial brand of Ohtsu Tire and Rubber and came to North America two years later. Its US headquarters is in Rancho Cucamonga, California, and it supplies retailers from six distribution centers in California, Florida, Illinois, New Jersey, Tennessee and Texas. Falken's line-up here has turned over: the Wildpeak A/T3W is discontinued in the US, its old product page no longer resolves, and Falken's A/T4W page describes the A/T3W as the predecessor.

Wildpeak A/T4W
Falken says the A/T4W keeps the A/T3W's features while adding an updated tread, a more durable sidewall, staggered shoulder blocks and an all-new compound. It says the "4W" stands for Wear, Winter, Wet and Warranty. The published data covers 105 size and load variants across 15-22in wheels, Load Ranges SL, XL and C through F, and tread depth of 13-19/32in depending on size. Falken says the A/T4W earned the USTMA Three-Peak Mountain Snowflake symbol after meeting the industry's snow traction performance requirements, with no size exclusions stated. USTMA's definition requires a snow grip index of at least 1.10 against its SRTT14 reference tire (or 1.12 against SRTT16) in the ASTM F1805-20 medium-packed-snow traction test. The A/T4W's limited tread-life warranty is 65,000 miles on non-LT sizes and 60,000 miles on LT sizes, up from the 55,000 miles the A/T3W carried. It is also backed by Falken's Road Hazard protection and 30-Day Ride Guarantee. The A/T3W it replaces carried a 55,000-mile warranty and 3PMSF, so owners moving from one to the other gain 10,000 warranted miles on P-metric sizes and 5,000 on LT sizes.
Falken lists 3-ply DURASPEC sidewall technology on select sizes, updated Heat Diffuser technology that it says draws heat out of the tire for stability when towing at full load, and added Heavy Duty (HD) sizes. It says those sizes and the heavier construction improve towing at higher load capacities and higher tire pressures than the A/T3W. Six variants reach Load Range F, from 33x12.50R20LT 119S to LT305/65R18 128/125R. In LT285/70R17, the A/T4W comes as a Load Range C at 116/113 R and an E at 126/123 S. Goodyear's load-index chart converts those to 2,756 lb and 3,748 lb per tire, a 992 lb difference in the same nominal size.
On P-metric sizes the A/T4W is a different tire in practice. Its 265/70R17 is 115 T with 14/32in of tread and a 660 A B UTQG grade, while the LT265/70R17 is a Load Range E at 123/120 S with 17/32in. That is 2,679 lb against 3,417 lb per tire on Goodyear's chart, and 118 mph against 112 mph. Under 49 CFR 575.104 only the passenger size carries a UTQG grade; its traction A means a wet-braking coefficient above 0.47 on asphalt and 0.35 on concrete.
By construction the A/T4W is mostly a light-truck tire: 66 of its 105 variants are LT or flotation (Load Range C to F), and 39 are passenger SL or XL sizes. Most of the graded passenger sizes are 660 A B; four are 660 B B and two are 660 A A.
Wildpeak A/T Trail and Rubitrek A/T
The Wildpeak A/T Trail is built specifically for crossovers. Falken developed it on a unibody platform and says it is not for pickup trucks. It has 46 P-metric SL/XL sizes on 15-21in wheels, 10-11/32in of tread, 3PMSF and a 65,000-mile warranty, and it is the only Falken all-terrain here with V-rated (149 mph) sizes; 24 of its 46 sizes are V. Forty-three of the 46 are graded 680 A A under UTQG, the highest treadwear grade among the Falken tires here. The Rubitrek A/T is a 43-size all-terrain (15-20in, SL, XL, C and E) with a silica compound, 3D Canyon Sipes, 13-19/32in of tread, 3PMSF and a 55,000-mile warranty. In 265/70R17 its passenger version is 115 T with 14/32in of tread and a 660 A B UTQG grade, while the LT265/70R17 version is Load Range E at 121/118 S with 18/32in. Against the A/T4W in that LT size, the Rubitrek has 1/32in more tread but a lower rating: 3,197 lb per tire against the A/T4W's 3,417 lb.
Wildpeak R/T
The Wildpeak R/T is Falken's hybrid for lifted trucks, SUVs and high-powered diesel pickups: 50 LT and flotation sizes on 16-22in wheels in Load Ranges C-F, 16-20/32in of tread, a 50,000-mile warranty on all sizes, and no severe-snow claim on its page. Every listed size is R speed-rated (106 mph). It leans toward big tires: 22 of the 50 sizes are flotation sizes, and 36 are Load Range E. Seven sizes are Load Range F, including 35x12.50R18LT 128R, which Goodyear's chart rates at 3,968 lb per tire.
Wildpeak M/T
The Wildpeak M/T is the mud-terrain end: 28 sizes across 15-20in wheels, Load Ranges C, D and E, and 17.5-21/32in of tread depending on size. Falken lists 3-ply DURASPEC sidewall technology with two high ply turn-ups, an aggressive upper sidewall for traction at low air pressure and a variable three-pitch tread for on-road manners. Unlike the A/T4W, A/T Trail, Rubitrek and R/T pages, the M/T page states no mileage warranty and makes no 3PMSF claim. Every size is Q speed-rated (99 mph). Twelve of the 28 sizes are flotation sizes, from 30x9.50R15LT to 38x13.50R17LT, a Load Range D at 128 Q (3,968 lb). In LT285/70R17 it is offered as a Load Range C at 116/113 with 18.1/32in of tread and a Load Range E at 121/118 with 19.5/32in.
Choosing Within the Wildpeak Family
The split inside the brand is mostly vehicle and duty. The A/T Trail is the crossover tire. The Rubitrek or A/T4W suits trucks and SUVs that need winter marking, with the A/T4W's HD and Load Range F sizes aimed at towing. The R/T suits lifted and diesel builds that can do without a snow rating, and the M/T suits builds where mud and rock come first and neither a mileage warranty nor a snow rating matters. Speed ratings narrow the list further: Goodyear's chart puts Q at 99 mph, R at 106, S at 112 and T at 118.
