Milestar's Patagonia A/T comes in two versions with different specifications, and this library's entry is the Patagonia A/T Pro. Milestar says the A/T Pro carries the Three-Peak Mountain Snowflake (3PMSF) rating. The rating is marked with an asterisk whose footnote isn't shown on the page, so any size exceptions are unknown. The warranty is 55,000 miles. The separate Patagonia A/T R lists M+S only, with no 3PMSF, and carries 50,000 miles.
The A/T Pro's official chart has 61 sizes across 15-22in wheels in SL, XL and Load Ranges C, E and F. Tread depth is 14/32in on P-metric and metric sizes and 18/32in on every LT and flotation size, and UTQG is 660 A A on the P-metric/metric sizes. Milestar lists its MILETECH sidewall compound for strength and impact protection, an aggressive upper sidewall for rock protection and side-biting traction, staggered step-down grooves against stone drilling, and angled tread notches with an optimized pitch sequence for a quieter ride. The A/T Pro is built in the USA from domestic and imported materials and is eligible for a 30-day ride guarantee and Milestar's Road Hazard Program.
The A/T R uses different technology: a cut-and-chip-resistant silica-infused compound and offset tread blocks with alternating open shoulders. Its size list differs too; 35x12.50R17, for example, appears on the A/T Pro chart but not on the A/T R chart.
Before buying, confirm whether a listing is the A/T Pro or the A/T R. The shared "Patagonia A/T" name hides the two differences that matter most, the 3PMSF rating and the 5,000-mile warranty gap. For winter use, the A/T Pro is the version to buy.
