TL;DR
- Yokohama's Geolandar line here spans the A/T G015 all-terrain, the X-AT rugged-terrain and the M/T G003 mud-terrain.
- Only the G015 carries the 3PMSF severe-snow symbol. It is warranted for 60,000 miles on P-metric and Euro-metric sizes and 50,000 on LT and flotation sizes, but its current chart has just 18 sizes.
- The X-AT is warranted for 50,000 miles on Euro-metric sizes and 45,000 on LT-metric sizes. The G003 has no mileage warranty, and 72 of its 74 listings are Q speed-rated (99 mph).
- Yokohama's mileage claims need proof of rotation every 5,000 miles and a purchase from an authorized Yokohama dealer.
- Yokohama's current warranty also lists a newer Geolandar A/T4 all-terrain (65,000 and 55,000 miles), which this library doesn't yet cover.
The Yokohama Rubber Co. was founded on October 13, 1917, as a joint venture between Yokohama Electric Cable Manufacturing and the American BFGoodrich Company. It set up Yokohama Tire Corporation as its US sales company in 1969 and bought the US tire maker Mohawk Rubber in 1989. The Geolandar name first appeared in 1996, on an all-terrain tire for recreational vehicles. Yokohama publishes tread depth and load range for every Geolandar size.

Geolandar A/T G015
Yokohama lists four G015 features:
- an "Enduro" compound it says stays flexible for grip in rain and snow;
- triple 3D sipes that change shape as the tread wears to keep biting edges;
- a flat, wide profile that spreads weight to combat uneven wear;
- Endurocore construction for vehicles that carry heavy loads.
It carries the severe-snow (3PMSF) rating. The current chart has 18 sizes on 15-22in wheels. The 11 P-metric and Euro-metric sizes (five SL, six XL) have 11-13/32in of tread and are graded 600 A B; nine are H-rated (130 mph). The seven LT-metric sizes (six Load Range E, one D) have 16-18/32in and are S- or R-rated.
Geolandar X-AT
The X-AT balances off-road ability with on-road comfort, according to Yokohama. It is built on GEO-SHIELD construction: multiple sidewall plies, a high turn-up carcass and a full nylon cap for durability and puncture resistance. It adds thick sidewall protectors, an HD-2 off-road compound for cut and chip resistance, and five-pitch block variation with zig-zag grooves to reduce pattern noise.
The chart has 104 listings covering 99 sizes on 15-24in wheels: 25 Euro-metric, 52 LT-metric and 27 flotation. The Euro-metric sizes have 14/32in of tread and are mostly T-rated. The LT and flotation sizes have 15-19/32in and are mostly Q-rated. Load Range E covers 61 listings, and 10 reach Load Range F. Yokohama's warranty table gives 50,000 miles for Euro-metric sizes and 45,000 for LT-metric sizes. It doesn't list the flotation sizes separately.
Geolandar M/T G003
The G003 shares GEO-SHIELD construction. It adds aggressive sidewall armor, mud and stone ejectors, a variable-pitch tread for highway noise and a high-density triple-polymer compound. Its 74 listings cover 68 sizes on 15-24in wheels: 44 LT-metric, 28 flotation and two passenger sizes. The passenger sizes are 265/70R17 116 T and 275/65R20 116 H, and they carry its only UTQG grade, 500 B B. Tread runs 17-21/32in on LT and flotation sizes, with 21/32in on most flotation sizes. All 72 LT and flotation listings are Q-rated. Load Range E covers 53 listings, C eight, F seven and D four.
Load Range vs Load Index on Geolandar Sizes
A load range letter describes a tire's construction and inflation class. The load index gives its maximum load, which Goodyear's chart converts to pounds. The Geolandar charts show why the index is the number to check:
- Same index, different letters. The X-AT's LT285/70R17 comes as a Load Range D at 121/118 S and a Load Range E at 121/118 Q. Both are rated 3,197 lb per tire. The D is rated for a higher speed (112 mph against 99).
- Same size, big gap. The X-AT's LT265/70R17 comes as a Load Range C at 112/109 T (2,469 lb) and an E at 121/118 Q (3,197 lb). That is 728 lb per tire, or 2,912 lb across four. The G015 in the same LT size is an E at 121/118 S with 18/32in of tread.
- Same letter, different ratings. The G003's Load Range E flotation sizes run from 33x12.50R22LT at 109 (2,271 lb) to 37x12.50R18LT at 128 (3,968 lb). In 33x12.50R20LT it comes as both an E at 114 (2,601 lb) and an F at 119 (2,998 lb).
Yokohama's own warranty ties coverage to these numbers. Tires on light trucks and minivans that came with passenger tires from the factory are covered only if the Yokohama replacement matches or exceeds the original load index and speed rating. Otherwise the warranty is denied. That matters because a passenger-rated tire on a truck already counts for less: FMVSS 120 divides its load rating by 1.10 on trucks and multipurpose passenger vehicles.
Yokohama Warranty Terms
Yokohama's standard limited warranty for replacement tires covers normal highway use in the United States, commercial use excluded, for the original purchaser. Coverage lasts for the original usable tread, or 60 months from purchase (72 months from manufacture without proof of purchase), whichever comes first.
- Free replacement: while 2/32in or less of tread is worn, a tire with a covered condition is replaced free, including mounting and balancing.
- Prorated replacement: after that, the owner pays the percentage of usable tread worn times the dealer's current price.
- Mileage warranty: within 60 months of purchase, a tire that reaches the 2/32in wear bars before its warranted miles gets credit for unused service. A G015 LT tire that wears out at 40,000 of its 50,000 miles is charged the share of warranted miles received, 80%, times the dealer's current price.
Mileage coverage requires a purchase from an authorized Yokohama dealer and proof that the tires were rotated every 5,000 miles. Rear tires on a staggered fitment get half the warranted miles.
Yokohama excludes:
- road hazards;
- vehicles "in racing or special applications";
- improper stud insertion, regrooving and added sealants;
- weather cracking on tires bought more than 48 months before the claim;
- tires on vehicles registered or operated outside the US.
The mileage and 30-day trial warranties apply only to tires bought from authorized Yokohama dealers. The X-AT and G015 pages both list the 30-day satisfaction guarantee.
